We are pleased to let you know that Conwy’s Personal Advisor’s team has once again been awarded the St David’s day grant funding from Welsh Government.
This is a relatively small amount of £33,205 and is available to March 2023 for looked after children and care leavers from the age of 16 to 25 years. The aim of the grant is as additional support towards independent living; focusing on areas such as help with employment (e.g. DBS checks, necessary equipment), training and education (e.g. laptops, text books, kit), accommodation (e.g. household goods, support towards flat deposits, removals) and general health and wellbeing (e.g. passport, clothes).
Applications are reviewed each week, however, there is no guarantee that funding will be approved and decisions are made based on the nature of the request, previous applications and value for money.
Also we would like to extend our thanks to everyone who completed the survey regarding the allocation of the funding, especially with regard to driving lessons; the majority chose the package of driving licence, theory and practical tests. We will therefore no longer be supporting driving lessons through this grant.
Please contact your Social Worker or Personal Advisor for further information or click on the link below to submit the easy application!
PLEASE NOTE WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM CONWY CARE LEAVERS
